MISD Education Foundation Grants

Contributions to the Education Foundation make a difference in education through our long-standing grant program. Since 1998, through the generosity of our donors, the foundation has provided over $5 million to fund creative, innovative learning opportunities that go well beyond what tax dollars alone can provide.

Grants are awarded in all shapes, sizes, and subject matter. From literacy to math, history, science, fine arts, STEM, athletics, and social emotional health, each grant application is read and evaluated by a committee of educators and foundation board members.

Traditional Grants are awarded in the fall during an exciting, two-day Grant Patrol through the district. Foundation board members, school district administrators, and volunteers board buses and travel to campuses throughout the district surprising grant winners with a large check and a heart-felt congratulatory cheer.

Overview of Grant Types

Traditional Teacher Grant:  Individual teachers may apply for grants up to $1,000. Traditional Teacher Grants are awarded in the fall.

Collaborative Grant:  Teachers, coordinators, grade levels, campuses, and teachers teaching the same subjects may collaborate and apply together for Collaborative Grants up to $5,000.

Think Big Grant:  This application is reserved for grants that impact the entire district and awards up to $10,000.

Building on Success Grant:  See a grant that is making a positive impact on students in another classroom or campus? That is great; you can build on it by applying for a Building on Success grant. Building on Success grants are for teachers and educators to apply individually for a grant up to $1,000 or collaboratively for a grant up to $5,000.

Sponsored Grant:  The Education Foundation is grateful to have community partners that support Mansfield ISD by sponsoring specific grants. If you, your business, or organization would like to sponsor a grant, please call Jennifer Kurecka at 817-299-6323.
