Mary Orr Intermediate School Sponsored by Ramtech Building Systems – Teachers Coy Baldwin and Terry Groseclose received a grant for $4,981.17. The grant funds were used to purchase six telescopes with different purposes and capacities, two iPads with Star Walk application and a classroom “Build your own” telescope kit. The students were able to see the moon and Jupiter up close on Thursday, January 24. The large telescope has GPS capabilities to seek out the moon and planets depending on the coordinates that are programmed in. Mike Slataper of Ramtech came out to observe the plane.
