Welcome to Glass Class
Grant funds provided materials to create fused glass wearable art for each 6th grade student enrolled in art at Cross Timbers Intermediate. A glass-fusing furnace was purchased with smooth edged glass pieces, an instruction booklet and materials to create a necklace or bracelet that will display one piece of fused glass that each student created. Glass fusing combines the worlds of science and art. It teaches the concepts of molecular changes that occur in glass during the fusing process as well as color theory and design involved in blending colors together.
