The purpose of Fish Fest is to create a welcoming and encouraging environment to Summit High School for the incoming freshmen, so that they will feel secure and comfortable in both academic and social settings. The upperclassmen “Fishing Guides” will present and provide the tools needed to instill the scholastic and social confidence that the “Little Fish” will need through the year as they jump in to the big BLUE pond of Summit. Fish Fest was a $10,000 grant awarded by the MISD Education Foundation in the spring of 2007.
