Summit Photojournalism students created multimedia projects showcasing what they love about summit high school. The project was a grant called “Let’s Hear It” awarded to the school by the Mansfield Education Foundation.
The project was a grant called “Let’s Hear It” awarded to the school by the Mansfield ISD Education Foundation. The software used to create the slideshows is called Soundslides and was generously donated by the company so that the students could get a chance to use porfessional slideshow creation software.
To complete the project, the students first made a list of 20 things they loved about summit and a list of 10 poeple they love at Summit. They took these lists and culled them down to the things they loved the most. Some students chose one thing to focus their slideshow on and others chose two or three. Then they took digital cameras out and photographed those things they had identified as what makes our school special. When they returned to class they edited the photo and used digital aufio recorders that were purchased using the grant money to record their own voice talking about thier images. They used Adobe Photoshop to edit theri photo and Garageband to edit their audio. Finally they used the Soundslides software to put it all together into a nice presentation.
